Integrated Pest Control
We have the method to fix your problem!
Integrated pest management (IPM) can be used to solve pest problems and minimising risks to people and the environment. IPM can be used to manage all kinds of pests anywhere in our urban and rural environments.
Cultural methods
Suppress pest problems by minimising the conditions they need to survive, such as (water and food, harbourage areas and habitat).
Physical methods
Prevent pest access to the host or area, or, if the pests are already present, physically removing them by some means, such as (installing barriers for entry points)
Chemical methods
There are many types chemicals that are used in pest management situations, but not all chemicals are the same from the standpoint of their range and mode of action, low-to high toxicity, or longevity in the environment.
Biological methods
Can use predators, parasites and diseases of pests in a targeted way to suppress and reduce pest activity.
What we do
* Understanding your pests.
* Setting actions thresholds for target pests – knowing when to take action against key pests.
* Monitoring for pests, their active locations and populations.
* Limiting and removing conditions that allow pest infestations.
* Using one or more effective pest control methods including sanitation, structural maintenance, and nonchemical methods in place or in combination with pesticides.
IPM 6 Step process
1. Pest identification
2. Monitoring and assessing pest numbers and damage
3. Guidelines for when management action is needed
4. Preventing pest problems
5. Using a combination of biological, cultural, physical-mechanical and chemical management tools
6. After action is taken, assessing the effect of pest management
At Day & Knight Pest Control we try to always use and adopt an IPM approach with any type of treatment plan for homes and businesses in Melbourne and greater Melbourne areas.
